5 days old!

Just a quick update before the girls wake! Mylee is doing amazing! She is sleeping GREAT and still trying to get the hang of nursing! Sometimes it can be frustrating but I've told myself to not get upset with nursing. I did with Kendal and I stopped nursing when she was 5 months. After stopping I realized how much I loved it. That special time with her was now gone. So with Mylee, I'm doing my best to be as patient as I can and to enjoy it! Which I do! The ONLY time she cries is when she has to poo or burp. She doesn't like it at all. She screams and screams and then a burp or gas will pass and she's back to sleep. It's actually super cute! Mylee sleeps 5 hours at a time at night. I figured that's not too long, doctor said wake her up every 3 hours to eat. If I do that, Mylee will eat like 10 min MAX and back to sleep. With the 5 hours, she wakes up on her own and eats double. She knows what she needs. :) During the day I'll probably wake her ever 4. I love her little cry and whimpers! (They are sweeter to the ear than an almost 3 year old fit!)

Speaking of fits! I've been having a difficult time with Kendal for a while...since I was like 7 months pregnant. She is beyond busy and needs entertainment all the time. When I started getting uncomfortable and having a hard time keeping up with life, is when I began to notice her boredom. Once her boredom hits, she will get in to EVERYTHING to get ANY kind of attention. She is in no way jealous of Mylee, she LOVES her. She always wants to hold her and kiss her. I'll figure Kendal out soon. Just still trying to recover and get strength back.

Life is pretty amazing these days. I love having 2 kids. I love having 2 GIRLS! And I'm SOOOOO thankful for all the meals this week! It's been so easy to adjust back to life and not have to think about dinner!! Thank you EVERYONE for your help!!!

April 2, 2011

It all started Friday morning. I had a doctor's appointment at 7am. I started having braxton hicks contractions, which was normal. I had contractions that started around 36 weeks or so. Nothing powerful or painful. Just uncomfortable and often. I went to my appointment and was dilated to a 2 and 60% effaced. Which was a little softer than the week before. I was scheduled to be induced Sunday night. So the doctor and I talked a little about the process and details. I was induced with Kendal, so I knew what was going to happen. After my appointment I went home and had a normal day. Still lots of contractions, which again was normal. Friday night Tanner and I decided to go on one last date before Mylee's arrival. We went to the movies with a group of friends and during the whole movie I had more contractions that were a little stronger but not much. Didn't think anything about it. We got home and went to bed around 11pm. I woke up at 3am with contractions. But they still weren't that strong so I thought nothing of them. They were a little more powerful than the one's I'd been having Friday but I figured my muscles were just sore and tired. Around 3:30am they were closer so I decided to time them. Five minutes apart. BUT they didn't KILL me. Here's the thing....I was induced with Kendal...I didn't know what contractions felt like. I knew what they felt like on pitocin and those KILLED!! So these were NOTHING compared to that. After an hour of timing, I called my mom for a second opinion. She thought I was in labor and should head to the hospital. I talked with Tanner and we decided to go. We got to the hospital around 5:30. After paperwork and what not they checked me at 6am. I was the exact same as the day before. But because I was group b strep positive, the nurse was going to monitor me for 30 min and if nothing's changed she'd want me to walk around as much as I could. By this time my mom was there and Tanner went to go get breakfast. My mom and I walked around for about an hour, came back and at 7:30am they checked me. The nurse who was there when I first showed up was off her shift and I had a new nurse. This new nurse asked, "You were previously a 2, correct?" I jokingly said back "No, I was a 6" They nurse checked me and said, "Oh wow! You are a 6!" WHAT?!! They hurried and started my IV's and got the antibiotics for the group b strep going. And moved me to labor and delivery. I was SOOOOOOOO beyond happy that I was able to go into labor on my own! The funny thing is....I thought for sure labor would be a whole lot more painful! These contractions really weren't bad. And in between the contractions we were laughing and joking around. So I was BLOWN away about how EASY this was. Around 11am the doctor came and checked me still a 6, where as before the L&D nurse said I was a 7. Who knows. I was handling the contractions just fine. BUT....I was FREAKING out about pushing. With Kendal I pushed for THREE HOURS STRAIGHT and had a level 4 tear. (Which is the highest level for a tear.) And my doctor kept telling me how huge this baby was going to be. A 9 pounder. So I was REALLY nervous to go through all that again and the thought of FEELING it ALL....heck no! I ended up getting an epidural. Mylee was postierior so they put me on the "peanut" The "peanut" is a big exercise ball in the shape of..you guessed it...a peanut. I laid on my left hip and had this in between my legs, which opened my hips and allowed Mylee to get into position. After an hour the nurse came back to check on me. She had just started the check and said, "Oh wow! There's the baby's head. I had better call the doctor!" Once again, I was sooo surprised!! The doctor was there at 1:20pm and Mylee was born 1:29pm. I pushed through 4 contractions. 3 times each contractions for a total of 9 minutes! It was INSANE!!! SO SO SO EASY compared to Kendal! I did tear again. A level 2. So not nearly as bad, but I'm still recovering from that. Mylee Buck was 21inches long and 8pounds 14oz. She is PERFECT!! A head full of BLACK hair! Which was TOTALLY opposite from Kendal. The fuzz Kendal had was blonde. She was bald until she was 2! The thing that was the WORST....the after labor contractions/cramps! Oh my gosh!! Those were HORRIBLE!! 1000x's worse than the labor contractions! Wish I had an epidural for those bad boys! DANG!

Mylee is perfect in every way! She sleeps 6 hours straight....but I'm starting to wake her every 3 to feed her. She had a hard time learning to nurse, mainly cuz she wants to sleep. But I'm learning tricks to wake her up and what not.

Kendal...LOVE LOVE LOVES Mylee. She always want to hold her and kiss her. She loves to do nose kisses, where she rubs her nose with Mylee's nose. Super cute! Mylee will be in the room sleeping and Kendal will randomly go in and rub Mylee's hair and then come back out in the living room and start playing again. I SERIOUSLY LOVE having 2 kids. Life is just AMAZING! And have I said how glad I am to not be pregnant anymore!! Gah! I dislike being pregnant VERY much!

Well...that's the update for now! Time for mommy to rest :) (I'll do another post later with LOTS of pictures!)

Stressed

I will admit it. I'm highly stressed now. Found out this morning that baby Mylee is breech. Yes, I know she has time to flip. But the concerned look on Dr's face after the ultrasound checking Mylee's weight kind of lowered my hopes of Mylee ACTUALLY flipping. She is measuring 7lbs 7oz already, putting her in the 97%.  Yes, I know that that is only an estimate and sometimes they are off...but Kendal was a big girl. I'm finding most my friend's babies are around 7 pounds...if that. I've been doing some research on if second babies are bigger than the first. More often than not, they are. I'm not really worried about size though. I'm concerned about the recovery process. I already hate having limits and I can only imagine how it'll be if I were to have a c-section. I have a very active toddler and a husband who works 2 jobs. I'm very nervous. I know things will work out the way they are supposed to be. And that's all I want. But I had a very hard time after Kendal was born. Emotionally. I don't want to be even more limited and hormonal after Mylee. But I don't want to pray for something that is not the Lord's will and then have it not turn out. Sunday we had a lesson on prayer. You pray for things according to the Lord's will, not your own. If you pray hard enough...sometimes the Lord will give it to you. What if Mylee is breech for a reason? I'm probably stressing too much over this. I do have a week for Mylee to flip. And she's sideways....so she can do it. Right? I'm one to really focus on the negative, so I'm having a difficult time keeping positive. I just need to remind myself that it's in the Lord's hands. He knows what I can and cannot handle. I just need to learn to put ALL my trust in the Lord.

These contractions are now really annoying cuz I now know they are doing NOTHING!

I Never Know What To Title Posts...

Kendal has become very interested in barbies! I totally forgot about them until one day we were at the Grandpa and Papa Buck's house and they brought out Aunt Carly's old barbies. Kendal played for a very long time with them! Along with barbies...Kendal loves to dance like Cinderella and her Prince. She always asks Daddy to dance and to dip. She is learning about the "romantic" kiss as well....yikes! She puts her hands around our neck and pulls us in for a very intimate kiss. We are trying to tell her that only married people kiss like that. She then goes on to say that her and Daddy are married so it's ok! Goodness! It's so funny!

Oh how we love when Daddy comes home from work. Although, most days Daddy has so many other things to do...Kendal always BUGS him enough to get him to play for a little while.

Kendal has so much love for her toys! I enjoy watching her play.

Oh her faces!

Mommy had a bad craving for some treats today! (Like EVERYDAY!) I guess I'll gain a ton of weight at the end of my pregnancy now! Well....I am walking now so it will even out right?! :)

Lots of Posts

And I'm still trying to catch up! I want to post entries on everything. I was scrap booking but it was kind of expensive and time consuming. Some day. But for now...blogging.

Kendal is usually a big help around the house. These days I have a shorter temper than usually. Just tired and cranky. So her help...really isn't help. But I'm trying to be better with her curiosity and letting her figure things out.

She loves to help me with the laundry.

And she's still very interested in the little fan I brought in the other day. Always putting something on top to see what can "fly"

Can you tell she's ready for a nap?? When she gets sleepy she lays on the ground with her blanky. I have always rocked her to sleep but my tummy is in the way now.

So this is how we roll now! haha Dang tummy!

She likes her back scratched :)

Snow Day!

Crazy weather here in Phoenix! (Well...Scottsdale...close enough!) Today it is almost 80 outside. Would you believe me if I said there was a TON of snow on Sunday!? That's only 4 days ago! Tanner's work got quite a few inches so we went and played! It was BEAUTIFUL!!

Out of Africa!

A few weeks ago Tanner, Tanner's sister Carly, Kendal and I made a trip to Camp Verde. There is a "zoo" (They don't like being called a "zoo" but what else do you call a place that has animals that are usually at a "zoo"?) Anyway there is this place called Out of Africa. We have been wanting to go for over a year now. And we finally did! It was amazing!! Feeding giraffes, touching a HUGE snake, and being hunted by females lions....it was SA-WEET!! After only spending a few hours there, we ended up purchasing year passes! We want to go back after Tanner's brother, McCoy comes home from his 2 year mission!!! (that's a later post :) But...I'll be 38 weeks and I'm not sure of a hospital around. I think everyone else will end up going and I'll relax at home :) Anyway, here are some photos from the day! Cannot wait to go back!

After seeing the animals we went and found some snow to play in! Only lasted like 20 minutes cuz Kendal got really cold!
